The 20-Foot Drop Test
ResultAll four models worked normally after impact.
MethodWe dropped all four X-Series models from 20 feet, more than four times the published 1.5m rating.

The Proof Lab is where X-Series flashlights get dropped, soaked, frozen and run over.
Real-world tests on the X-Series, with the method behind each one.

Quick answers about how we test the X-Series.
In our real-world drop test, we dropped all four models (X14, X16, X30 and XP40) from 20 feet, more than four times the published 1.5 m impact rating. Every light powered on and operated normally afterward. This is a demonstration, not a certified drop rating.
The X-Series is rated IP68 and submersible to 2 meters. In our splash test, all four models were submerged in a few inches of water and worked normally after removal. That demonstration supports, but does not replace, the IP68 rating.
We ran each model until the lens area was noticeably hot, then plunged it into ice water. No lens cracked or shattered, and all four kept working normally after the thermal shock.
We ran a large truck directly over the XP40 Precision Pro to simulate a worksite run-over. It lit up and worked normally immediately afterward. We tested one XP40 unit, so treat it as a demonstration, not a guarantee.
No. They are real-world demonstrations, not standardized laboratory tests. They show how the lights hold up in everyday situations beyond what a lab rating certifies. Any engineer-run lab tests will be labeled separately.
Choose the light built for your work.
Every X-Series model passed the drop and thermal tests.
