    The XP40 has a unique configuration that sets it apart from the tactical flashlights in the series. Its magnetic base locks onto metal surfaces for hands-free lighting, and its Safety Lock keeps the light from deploying at full blast in your toolbelt.
    Is the XP40 a tactical flashlight?
    The XP40 is designed first as a work light for long shifts and hands-free use. Its controls sit on the side of the body rather than the tail, which frees the base to hold on magnetic surfaces so you can set the light down and aim it without holding it. A Safety Lock helps prevent accidental activation in a bag or pocket. It does include a strobe mode, but if you want a tail-switch light for quick access, the X14, X16, or X30 may be a better fit.
